Prepare the scheduled visits

Create the jobs and confirm their properties, scheduled dates, and any fixed appointment times before building the route. The route form selects scheduled jobs as stops. Accurate addresses and time commitments give you a route you can review meaningfully.

A route has its own name, date, and assignment. Check those fields alongside the jobs you add so the worker or crew receives a coherent set of visits.

Create the route

  1. Open New Route

In Routes, open New Route. Enter Route Name and Date. Add a Starting Address if you want to specify the start, including city, state, and ZIP Code as needed.

  2. Choose the assignment

In Assignment, choose the Employee or Crew responsible for the route. Review the final selection before saving.

  3. Add scheduled jobs

In Stops, use Add a job to select the scheduled visits you want to include. Review the list and choose Create Route.

Optimize eligible stops and review the result

Open the route and choose Optimize Route when available. Optimization requires at least three stops without fixed start times. If all stops have fixed times, the control explains that there is nothing to optimize; if too few stops are free, it shows the number available.

A missing explicit starting address does not always prevent optimization. Read the start information shown on the route, which explains its fallback or first-stop behavior. After optimizing, review the stop order and any fixed appointments before the worker sets off.
